My names Amanda and I have been a teacher for the last 12 years and now work part time. I am very passionate about learning and teaching, whilst helping students to develop to their full potential
Ive spent my teaching career, teaching in two different schools in London, where Ive taught Health & Social Care, CACHE, Childcare, Psychology and Special Needs. I was Head of Department for 8 years and decided to opt for a change and now current;y teaching in a sixth form college in West London.
I have vast knowledge of various Health and Social Care qualifications and specifications. To extend my knowledge of assessment, I act as Principal Examiner for the Welsh Joint Education Committee (WJEC). As part of my role, I oversee Assistant Moderators and ensure WJEC protocol is adhered to. During my time working for the exam board, I have been a part of developing new specifications and also resources for the Welsh Grid for Learning, which have now been turned into interactive teaching resources.
My teaching method is dynamic and I like to use a range of activities to help support learning. I believe in using various approaches to teaching, which facilitate the active participation of students and involve them fully in their group and individual learning.
