Online Maths and Physics Teacher

I am a teacher of Biology in a high-achieving grammar school in Chelmsford (students of ages 11-18 years). I also offer tuition in mathematics and science to GCSE and I have been an 11 plus tutor both independently and as part of companies for over 8 years.
In addition, I am able to teacher ESOL (English for students of other languages) to children, teenagers and adults for which I have a TEFL pass 'B' certificate.

Kind regards,

Amanda.

*Prepare for IELTS exams
*Sit the CAE examinations
*Sit GCSEs or A Levels
*Sit IGCSEs, e.g. Edexcel, AQA.

Do not hesitate to get in touch.

A tutor who has worked in schools, and who has coached students through to exam success. I teach English to Masters' level, but have built up experience coaching students successfully, through their 11, 12 and 13+ plus exams. In particular, these exams can be a source of tension because of their importance - I strive to make these as stress-free (and enjoyable!) as possible by instilling my students with the confidence to study and also to succeed, on their own.

2012-2014 (summer): I worked with a student with SEN, teaching iGCSE English and maths higher. The student passed all his exams and got very respectable grades and I am really proud of him. Please ask for further details. I also worked with a speech processing disorder student and students with dyslexia and encourage in my teaching, certain strategies to help with (1) understanding - not just of the curriculum content, but also the parts that may have been missed out at school (2) lexis, grammar, or other as I recognise it, as it comes up in lessons or from school material.

I have experience working with SEN students including autism, and dyslexia.

Although my degree is in the sciences, you cannot succeed in science without good English, and I have found my teaching move towards English naturally over the years.

My teaching methods mean that my students tend to make absolutely excellent progress.

Grade selections

Year 10: Coursework with a student 39/40
