I am an experienced Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 teacher and have been teaching for 27 years. I have taught in a variety of schools, including over 20 years in primary schools. For the past two years I have been tutoring pupils in an L.E.A. maintained Pupil Referral Unit. I have also taught numeracy and literacy to Key Stage 3 pupils. I enjoy teaching pupils in all these Key Stages, enabling them to overcome difficulties they may be experiencing in order that they reach their true potential.
I am currently living in New Inn, Pontypool and am willing to travel if required.
For many years I taught in a very successful Junior School where pupils achieved well-above expected National Curriculum levels. Although these years were spent primarily in Years 5 and 6 I have also taught different ages in a number of different primary schools in South East Wales.
My experience during the last two years has allowed me to work with children who require one-to-one teaching because of learning, behavioural or emotional difficulties.
I am a caring, friendly and approachable person who can adapt my tutoring style and lesson content to encourage the child and also help gain confidence and raise expectations .I always encourage pupils to do their best. I have access to a wide range of teaching materials in order for me to help a child learn.
