I am an encouraging, empathetic and creative teacher with a good sense of humour and over 20 years experience in teaching French to a range of ages and abilities. I am passionate about France and the French language. I am committed to helping others to connect with their enjoyment of language learning and to fulfil their potential. I was resident in France for three years studying Literature, Film and Theatre at the Univeristé Charles de Gaulle, Lille France. I was also a member of a Theatre Company in Lille.
Since qualifying at the University of Reading in 1992, I have been teaching in mainstream and special schools delivering both French and Performing Arts. I have taught at the following levels: from primary through to A Level and Adult Education. I am passionate about language teaching and learning. I currently tutor in the Bexhill area.
“Teaching is only demonstrating that it is possible. Learning is making it possible for yourself.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Pilgrimage
I have a person centred approach to tutoring. We all learn in different ways and have varying levels of motivation for learning a foreign language. I plan to help each student individually achieve their own personal targets be that for fun; developing accuracy and fluency or targeting areas of difficulty in order to improve grades at GCSE or A Level.
