Information About Alison - Salford tutor - (2 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Alison:
I am passionate about languages and food. I take every opportunity to share these passions! I think I have a good sense of humour but my children would disagree!
I am a former Director of Language College working in a fully comprehensive secondary school based in the North West and have been teaching for 17 years. I specialise in French and Spanish to GCSE. I am an approved marker for AQA and am on the panel of experts for OFQUAL. I am justifiably proud of my pupils' results and have had the opportunity to work with children of all abilities to GCSE level.
To learn a language successfully, I believe that you have to consistently build on prior knowledge. I am convinced that learning grammatical structures in a rigorous but engaging way is fundamental to a positive outcome. Explaining how examiners mark the work is also a key component to my methodology. Pupils must also feel that they are making progress in order to maintain motivation. I am also convinced that a "one size fits all" approach is not acceptable and all courses must be tailor made for the learner.
