I graduated in 2014 with a Masters in Civil Engineering from University of Bristol and then worked for 3 years for Arup, an engineering and design consultancy in London. I love maths and would value the opportunity to help students to build their confidence with the subject and excel in their exams or school work.
I have been tutoring for 8 years and have a wide experience of working with many different students from the ages of 6 to 40 all of whom have gone on to succeed with their exams or school work but more importantly gained a deeper understanding, confidence and enjoyment of the subject.
I am also a fully qualified examiner for Cambridge International Examinations and mark IGCSE/OL/A Level Mathematics papers so have a strong understanding of how exams are marked and what students need to do to maximise the marks they receive.
I am adaptable to each students needs and have a calm and friendly but hard-working approach to tutoring. I have learnt through first hand experience just how differently every student learns and always adapt my approach accordingly. I have worked with children with Aspergers and other forms of autism, students with dyslexia, students who have fallen well behind and students who are excelling and want to get 100% rather than 90% in their exams. In my opinion maths is one of the most important academic skills students take from the education system. A strong GCSE or A Level in the subject paired with a deep confidence to apply maths to real world situations is essential to a vast range of jobs and life experiences. I aim to help students develop the skills they need to attain this.
