I have recently completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education as an Outstanding teacher, having graduated from Goldsmiths University with a 2:1 in History. I have experience in both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two and specialise in Maths and English. My recent training means that I am up to date and well equipped to deal with the current changes and expectations of the National Curriculum. I have a keen interest in children's literature; because of this, I promote a love of reading amongst my students. I am fully DBS checked and am a native English speaker.
Prior to my PGCE I worked freelance as a Maths and English tutor. I have worked in a range of schools in London, both faith and community, which I feel is of great benefit as I have a wealth of experience in different settings and with different teaching styles. I have experience across both Key Stages: specifically in years Two and Five.
Enjoyment of a lesson is perhaps the key to developing a sound understanding of it's content. This is why I seek to build a dialogue with my students which allows them to take ownership of their learning. Once targets have been identified, I construct personalised lesson plans to truly tailor a lesson to my student's needs and learning style. In order to keep my students engaged and passionate about learning I employ the use of practical resources, discussion and scaffolding.
