Ex-investment banking professional tutoring in Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, MS Excel among some other subjects.
I recently opted for a career change and decided to leave investment banking to pursue other passions. The years I spent working in an investment bank have given me a good grounding in Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies meaning I can give practical insight to complement the theoretical learning in A Level and GCSE. I can also teach the fundamentals of Excel which is a vital skill to know when working in an investment bank.
I have tutored throughout my university and professional working life. I have tutored mainly A level students. However I have tutored GCSE and university students as well. Given that my tutoring experience has primarily been with students who are stuggling with material I have a knack for explaining complex problems which are easily grasped by students of all levels. I have no problem building rapport with students and they consistently tell me that I explain the more complex elements of their subjects clearly so that they can understand them.
Identify what topics you are struggling with and drill down on the more complex and nuanced parts. Ensure that these are explained clearly. Identify your learning goals and create a development plan accordingly.
The key approach that I take is to ensure that the more complex problems are dealt with first as I feel this helps build a holistic understanding of the subject matter.
