Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Alex. I`m 22 and I have just completed my Master`s physics course at the University of Nottingham. I`m very outgoing, love meeting other people and being generally sociable - so not your average physicist! I`m also very good at engaging people who are more introverted and love bringing people out of their shells.
I`m about to take a year out following my degree to travel in the summer of 2019 and thought that there would be no better way to fill the coming year than to teach people the subjects that I love.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored for two years now, helping three students to achieve excellent results. My GCSE student was predicted a C in physics and a 6 in maths. I helped him boost those scores up to an A and 7, respectively. My A-level student achieved her predicted grade of a C in mathematics, allowing her to go to the university of her choice. I also tutored an adult learner, but they did not sit any exams.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring style is very organised and compliments what is being learnt in the classroom perfectly. The first step I take is to identify what topics my students` school will be covering and when. This allows me to tailor my tutoring to each student. As the year goes by, I retest students on their knowledge of previous topics to keep it fresh in their mind and to identify any areas that require further work. I do this by providing appropriate questions and exercises, whilst aiding to create revision sheets that can be used to memorise key points.
