Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Alex. I'm 21, and I have just completed my Master's physics course at the University of Nottingham. I'm very outgoing, love meeting other people and being generally sociable - so not your average physicist! I'm also very good at engaging people who are more introverted and love bringing people out of their shells.
I'm about to take a year out following my degree to travel in the summer of 2019. I thought that there would be no better way to fill the coming year than to teach people the subjects that I enjoy the most.
Outside of physics, I'm an avid Liverpool fan and watch them play almost every weekend. I am currently teaching myself to invest in the stock market, and I also have ambitions to learn the piano.

Tutoring Experience:

I have previously tutored two students and one adult, helping them to obtain fantastic results. My GCSE student was predicted a C in physics and a 6 in maths. I helped him boost those scores up to an A and 7, respectively. My A-level student achieved her predicted grade of a C in mathematics, allowing her to go to the university of her choice. The adult I tutored was not sitting any exams, but we both had a good time and he learnt a lot regardless.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach in an organised style that compliments what is being learnt in the classroom perfectly. My first step is to identify what topics my students school will be covering and when. This allows me to tailor my tutoring to each student so that time in class isn't wasted by a lack of understanding.
As the year goes by, I retest students on their knowledge of previous topics to keep it fresh in their mind. This is because practice really does make perfect when it comes to exams.
Most of all, I have an incredible amount of patience and respect for my tutees. My aim is not only to teach them well, but to act as a role model and help them to enjoy learning at the same time.
