Information About Alex - Edinburgh tutor - (3 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Alex:
I am studying for a PhD in chemistry at The University of Edinburgh. I have a first class degree in chemistry from The University of York.
Studying chemistry provides knowledge in maths, biology and physics as well as chemistry.
Having recently completed schooling and after teaching for a while I have learnt helpful techniques, especially teaching complex ideas simply and intuitively without being patronising (which I find incredibly important).
I have over 1000 hours experience tutoring peers, people doing adult exams and GCSE and A level students.
I believe in teaching intuitive, background information that provides a good base for other knowledge. I have been praised for my method, along with my extensive background knowledge.
After the base knowledge has been established, the course specific information is added on top.
I also believe in tailoring my teaching style to each individual student, regardless of learning style. I myself have had too many teachers that can not do this, and lose many students attention, resulting in a poor intake of information.

Alex was very easy to deal with, his communications are good, he is flexible, and he is friendly and approachable and clearly knows his Chemistry very well.
