I love conveying my passion for the Sciences and Maths; teaching through analogy and the stories behind the facts. I aim to make lessons collaborative and engaging. I have also founded a teaching charity where we specialise in students with extra needs.

I have completed a PhD in Chemistry in a competitive research group under the head of Organic Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh, and I have a first-class degree in Chemistry from The University of York. During my PhD, I taught seminars and practical lessons, including making materials and designing workshops for students.

Studying Chemistry provides knowledge in Maths, Biology, and Physics as well as Chemistry, and I like to use the overlap of these subjects to discuss the real-world applications of what is being learned.

More than happy to offer Skype or phone tutoring as well as help via email.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 12 years of experience tutoring peers, people doing adult exams and GCSE and A-level students.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in teaching intuitive, background information that provides a good base for other knowledge. I have been praised for my method, along with my extensive background knowledge.
After the base knowledge has been established, the course specific information is added on top.
I also believe in tailoring my teaching style to each individual student, regardless of learning style. I myself have had too many teachers that can not do this, and lose many students attention, resulting in a poor intake of information.
