I am a postgraduate student at the University of Oxford offering personalised tuition in English, Philosophy, and Religious Studies.
I have a First Class degree in Philosophy from the LSE, where I attained the best exam results in my year for numerous courses, including European Literature, Comparative Literature, and Global Literature.
My current research interests include William Blake, Nietzsche, Freud, and T.S. Eliot. More broadly, I am passionate about teaching any literary epoch or movement from the late medieval era to postmodernism.

Before graduating from the LSE I worked as a private music tutor for ten years, teaching a variety of ages, abilities, and personalities. During this time I prepared students for graded exams (1-8) and GCSE / A-level music exams with consistently excellent results.
I also have extensive experience as a tutee - I taught myself English, Philosophy, and Religious Studies at A-level with the help of private tutors, scoring 100% UMS in many of my modules. Hence, I know what makes a good tutor and what is required for exam success.

Each student is unique, and I aim to personalise each lesson accordingly, working at a pace that is intellectually stimulating and exciting.
I believe that any subject can be relevant and interesting; my objective is to discover an angle that really engages the tutee. This might entail, for example, analysing a fashion magazine or popular novel to cultivate close reading skills, or looking at philosophical issues in the media.
Where appropriate, I practise the Oxford tutorial method, combining regular essay writing with one-to-one feedback - a proven means of developing and refining the student's argumentative ability and essay writing technique. This is crucial for achieving the highest grades, where one's thesis must be presented in a well structured and carefully argued essay.
