Having graduated from Oxford I gained my PGCE from Nottingham.
I have taught Economics for 10 years at leading academic boarding schools. Including 3 years as Head of Economics at Wellington College, in Berkshire.
Prior to this I taught Economics at Shrewsbury International School and Charterhouse School, in Surrey.
I am familiar with all major exam boards (Edexcel, OCR, AQA, MEI, CIE, IB, ISEB). I have examined for both A Level and IB.
I also have extensive experience of preparing students for Oxbridge and have successfully helped numerous students gain entrance for Economics, PPE, Economics and Management and other related courses.
I have tutored since 2008 with exceptional results in A level, IB and Pre-U. The vast majority of my pupils exceed their own expectations.
Having identified the areas of difficulty through preliminary discussions with the student or parents I will then tailor the tutorials to meet the specific needs of the student. For example with an A-level student wanting exam success I would focus on exam technique, knowledge confidence and finding the edge needed for the very top marks. With a student who lacks confidence I will steadily build up understanding and knowledge, boosting confidence through positive feedback and the setting and completion of suitable goals. For all students I will endeavour to make the tutorial engaging and stimulating through a variety of teaching/learning styles. I always maintain a friendly and positive atmosphere and love to see my pupils enjoying their studies.
