Personal Description:

I am an enthusiastic, friendly, open and want to see all my pupils fulfil their potential. I graduated from Aberystwyth University with a BSc Zoology before completing my PGCE at the University of Worcester; where I was rated as an outstanding teacher throughout my PGCE, NQT and subsequent years. I am currently completing my MA Musical Theatre at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Outside of teaching I'm a big fan of rugby (having played for roughly 12years as a boy myself) and hockey where I currently play for Worcester Hockey Club. Performing arts is my biggest passion and I have been lucky enough to secure professional work ranging from Shakespeare to large scale musicals.
I really like to get stuck into things that challenge me!

Tutoring Experience:

I am a fully qualified science teacher (biology specialist) passing my PGCE and NQT years as an outstanding teacher. I have 3 years of teaching experience; successfully teaching multiple groups of all abilities at KS3, 4 & 5. During my time started a new 'Animal Care' course in addition to fulfilling pastoral responsibilities as an Assistant Head of Year.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to create and work in a relaxed environment that makes my tutees feel at ease; it's much more difficult to talk about what your struggling with if you feel pressured. I believe that it is extremely important to have confidence in your own abilities and trust that you will be able to do it! Even if it takes a little bit of work.
I use targeted questioning and discussion to identify misconceptions and problems, communicating these with the students so that we both know what needs to be worked on. This enables my pupils to take charge of their own learning, and gives them skills for later in life.
Once we have established a starting point I tailor activities to individuals and work at their pace. Beginning with embedding the basics before layering the more complex ideas on top of this solid foundation.
