This is how 2 referees rated Alessandro:
I am full time English teacher, currently teaching English Literature and Language up to GCSE. I have taught Key Stage 3 and 4 in schools in Greater London and Birmingham. Naturally, I am passionate about teaching and my subject and firmly believe that with the right support and challenges any pupil can succeed in English and fulfil their potential.
I have a high success rate at both KS3 and GCSE, with many of my pupils achieving better than average progress in end of year tests and GCSE exams. I have particular expertise in securing C grades or better in controlled assessments or exams. I will be able to teach any exam board or topic as required.
Although I live in Battersea, I am more than happy to travel to the surrounding areas of South, South West and Central London in order to fulfil tutoring requirements. I am flexible on pricing depending on the nature and preparation of the tuition needed. Away from the classroom, I enjoy playing football and golf amongst other sports. Equally, I am an avid reader and am enthusiastic about politics and culture.
You will find me to be patient and positive at all times and I am confident you will enjoy developing English skills that you can use in the classroom and beyond. Do feel free to call for an informal chat. I look forward to hearing from you.
I am a full time English teacher, having taught in schools in Birmingham and Greater London. In 2012 I moved to Thamesmead School in Middlesex, where I currently teach. I have been a form tutor, academic mentor and have run several extracurricular trips to widen my student learning opportunities. I am also studying for a Masters in Educational Leadership at Warwick University, focusing my studies on enabling students to become more independent and resiliant in thier learning. Additionally, I have particular experience in preparing GCSE pupils for and improving their grades in controlled assessments and exams.
Ultimately, as a teacher I know that my tutees will want accessible and engaging resources and teaching approaches that give them the confidence and challenge they need as they prepare for different assessments. As such I have a diverse range teaching resources and strategies, trialled in the classroom and proven to support pupil progress no matter what their national curriculum level that I am happy to share. I am confident of being able to support learners with varied learning styles and needs to be successful in English and this will be evident in my teaching. Furthermore I firmly believe that learning should be enjoyable, so a great deal of my tutoring will be personalised to the interests of my tutee to ensure they are motivated to improve.
I can guarantee:
• A friendly and supportive teaching style that will encourage tutees to make progress and enjoy learning English.
• Engaging resources and activities sharply focused on their learning needs and interests. This includes success modelling and clear success criteria so they know exactly how to achieve.
• Thought provoking questions and discussions that will build confidence by making learning practical and relevant.
• Differentiated teaching activities designed to support all learning requirements and develop independent learning skills.
• Accurate assessment of progress and clear feedback on how to improve.
Lastly, I believe that tutoring support can go beyond the hour face to face time and so am happy to deal with questions about the subject matter either by call or e-mail between sessions.
