I am a 20-year-old student studying BSc Medical Sciences at the University of Dundee, who is passionate about science, medicine and fundraising money for guide dogs helping blind people. In my spare time, I enjoy long walks and listening to music. In the future, I would like to become a doctor (a cardiac surgeon maybe?) who also spends time doing research.
My mother tongue is Polish but since going to the IB Diploma Programme I feel more comfortable tutoring in English.
I started tutoring when I was 17, however, I gained most of my experience in teaching through helping younger students in IB Diploma Programme while going through it myself and continuing through university. Recently I have started tutoring online as well and can say that my tutees are enjoying the experience of studying on a different platform. Moreso, this winter I underwent a day training program for tutoring from Lanterna Education, for which I currently work.
Since every person has different study methods I try to tailor my teaching to them but I always try to make it a fun experience by incorporating games, trying to reinforce a good understanding of a subject through different life examples (as I feel that it gives a more dimensional understanding of a concept). One thing that I stress in my tutoring techniques is interactive studying, as I find it to provide good results.
