My name is Alex and I am a 23 year old clarinet player. I am very approachable and enthusiastic, and always look for challenges. I work with performers of all ages, abilities and styles.
I have completed several training courses in my higher education and in post-graduate level, focusing on various aspects of tutoring: from lesson planning and individualised approaches to tutoring, to working with people of different ages, musical style preferences and experience.
I am an active soloist, ensemble and orchestra player with 10 years of stage experience. My solo repertoire includes works from the Classical, Romantic, Impressionist, Modern period and an array of Contemporary works. I have played in chamber, wind, symphonic and opera-specific orchestras with repertoire ranging from Verdi and Mozart to Bernstein and Vaughan Williams.
I offer individualised tutoring approach that combines the study of works from different musical styles and periods to serve the needs and interests of the performer, as well as open new horizons and introduce new ways of learning. From scales, scale based exercises and concert etudes to jazz improvisation techniques, I can introduce or help develop a vast array of skills to fulfil the needs of many different types of repertoire.
