Maths and Physics Tuition in Fulham

I’m a first year student at Magdalen College Oxford studying Physics and Philosophy. Due to an acute appendicitis my second term of uni has been interrupted so I will be around to tutor until I restart the year in September. I was studying in a french school system until I was 14, and am half Spanish. I am fluent in French, Spanish and proficient in Italian. I got 5 A* at A Level including in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, History and French

As I have very recently gone through the university application process I can also help with university applications in the UK, including help with personal statements for Oxbridge and preparation for entrance exams (practicing for the PAT or the NSAA (physics and maths only))

Tutoring Experience

Tutored English as a foreign language in Spain (ages 7 to 9) (boy and girl)
GCSE English Language, History and Physics Year 10 students (2) (boys)
Year 12 students in A Level Maths and Physics (2)

Tutoring Approach

For mathematics and physics I think understanding the concepts is really important before exam technique comes in - it can equip you for the hardest questions in the paper
For GCSE’s and A Levels I know that nearer the time of exams exam technique does become very important in all subjects and I can communicate tips and tricks to try and get as many marks as possible

For teaching languages I think it’s important to try and teach in the language that is being taught (if the student is at that level).

I am happy to create a study plan with the student in order to reach a goal before a deadline such as a holiday or exam

I also encourage them to do selected past paper questions I hand out, based on the lessons, in order to really consolidate the knowledge (although this would also depend on personal preference). I usually then review these in the following lesson
