My name is Aldo, I have a PhD in Biochemistry from Trinity College Dublin and a BSc in Chemistry obtained in Italy, where I was born. I have always had a passion for science and for sharing my knowledge with other people. I offer tutorials in Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Biochemistry.
I also offer Italian lessons (I was born and raised in Italy and I have excellent written and spoken skills in the Italian language) to GCSE and A Levels students or adults that want to learn this beautiful language!
I am a Science and Chemistry teacher at Secondary School level. I have several years experience teaching one to one Chemistry and Biochemistry/Biology to third level students. I also taught core physiology/anatomy/biochemistry concepts to medical students in small groups for about 5 years.
I believe that the best way to learn is by following one natural curiosity and this is best accomplished with a question driven approach. The tutor role is to facilitate learning by helping the student ask questions that help define clear learning objectives. I believe it's important to build a relationship of trust between tutor and tutee, in order for the tutor to have a feel for the tutee's learning style. Also, focusing on past exam questions helps the student link the theory to 'practical' problems, aiding him/her to both reinforce his/her long-term memory and to boost his/her confidence in preparation for the exam.
