I graduated from Imperial College of Science and Technology before working for about 25 years is Datacommunications/Telecommunications. I then made a career change into teaching, where I gained my eaching qualifications at Brunel University. I now have a CCNA qualification and have been certified as a Silver IPv6 Engineer.
I have experience teaching mathematics, science, physics and engineering up to KS4. I have taught physics and engineering to KS5. During my first job at Queensmead School, I was quickly promoted to Teacher in Charge of Physics. In my most recent role I was Head of Science at Burnham Upper School.
I like to build up a clear picture of a students strengths and weaknesses (based on teacher assessment and my own). I give students an opportunity to voice their concerns and agree the priorities for them to focus on short term and long term. We also agree what has to be done to achieve their goals.
