With Alan's help, my son's English Language went from a Grade 4 to Grade 6, English Literature from a Grade 2 to Grade 6 in under a year. Alan gives effective feedback and clear explanation, and he has helped boost my son's confidence in both subjects.

Alan is a great tutor, always professional, organised and knows how to move my son forward with his studies.

My Daughter has started working with Alan for her GCSE’s this year. He is very organised and we get weekly feed back on her progress.

Alan is well organised, provides structured and clear resources, explains things well so that they are easy to understand, is effective at understanding the needs of my son. My son has quickly built a good rapport with Alan and in a very short time, he has really helped build his confidence which means he is approaching his studying with much more enthusiasm and his work is getting better and better!

Alan is an excellent tutor who has been very helpful in preparing my daughter for her GCSE English studies. He is very professional, well organised and very knowledgeable in the subject area. His lessons are well structured with good resources. He quickly identified the area of weakness in my daughter and structured the lessons to address these issues. Alan can explain complicated ideas in a simple straight forward way, breaking the subject down so it’s understandable to my son. He’s able to talk to everyone on their level so he’s now tutoring both of my boys and they are already beginning to enjoy the subject again and do better with his 1:1 very helpful support.

Alan has been extremely helpful in preparing my daughter for her A level exams in Media .He is a very experienced teacher ,familiar with the material she is studying, and has let her know about many resources relevant to the course .His feed back to her is encouraging ,thoughtful and very precise ,helping her feel clearer and more confident in what each A level question is wanting from her. She is very pleased that she has had this extra help from him.

Alan provided media A level tutoring to our son for a summer resit - which he passed. I've found Alan to be very reliable, attentive, professional. His lessons have been very well structured and honed in to our son's needs and ability. He provided excellent resources, always gave feedback and I felt he was very good at boosting our son's confidence. We've had various tutors for our children over the years and Alan has been the best by far.

We have been so impressed by Alan and his tutoring of A level media for our child. He has considerable experience of this exam but, just as importantly, has a gift of being able to share his knowledge in a way this is accessible and interesting. He is also very generous in sharing the many student resources he has built up over time. It took a long time to find a media teacher with this experience and skills - we cannot recommend Alan highly enough.

Alan has really helped my daughter after several sessions, and in fact she has asked to continue with more sessions. Overall she finds the sessions very helpful, with Alan providing various resources, following up all the time, is well organised for each session, and definitely very knowledgeable about the subject matter.
The only regret is not having reached out to Alan earlier!

We had one lesson with Alan and i thought he was good, but my daughter was not keen on **E-mail Address Removed**drive platform- She struggles with dyslexia and the system wasnt right for her. This doesnt mean Alan was not a worthy tutor- but my daughter felt that weekly lessons in this format would not suit her.

Alan responded to our request promptly and has made an excellent start in helping our son with GCSE exams. He is friendly, very reliable and experienced in his teaching methods. Weekly feedbacks are also very helpful and our son feels his writing skills are improving.

Mr has been relatively methodical in his approach and found really useful for my son to identify which areas he needs improvement in analytical writing. He keeps an even keel with students to put across his ideas and learning contents to them. My son has found useful in improving his English language skills.

We have not been working with Alan for very long on Eduqas A level media studies but so far we have found him to be very knowledgeable and professional. We very specific in what we wanted and he has met the brief completely, his resources and level of teaching he uses is spot on. He is very approachable and both student and parent are happy to ask questions. Would highly recommend. When i asked my son his score out of 5 for Alan he gave 17!

Alan is a professional and excellent tutor, he is helping my two sons in their GCSE Exam , after few lessons I noticed a big improvement , my boys enjoy the lesson with Alan , he is not only good in his subject knowledge , he knows how to engage and improve the students grades.

Alan is very professional, knowledgeable and approachable and takes time to tailor the English Language sessions to my son's interests. He spends time focusing on the areas that my son needs more help with but without overwhelming him. He has a very positive approach and is doing wonders for my son's confidence in this subject. Excellent Tutor.

Alan has helped me with an English Literature A - Level exam. He has provided some really useful feedback and often includes additional comments as well as the comments he has written on the essay. Alan has always been prompt on marking essays and is very willing to respond to any queries if you have any. I would highly recommend him as a tutor.
