I have been a science teacher for 22 years, and 10 years of this till date as head of science and gifted and talented coordinator.. I am also a GCSE science examiner for Edexcel, AQA and CIE exam boards, also a coursework moderator and standards verifier for BTEC science.
I am married with 3 teenage children. My background is African form Ghana, however i have been in this country for over 30 years.
I have successfully taught mainly KS3, GCSE combined science and triple science - physics, chemistry and biology. I have also taught BTEC science in the past. I supported my children with their maths whilst they were at primary school. In the early stage of my teaching career i was a tutor at a private Saturday tuition centre. At my current school i deliver both one to one and small group tuition to students as an intervention support.
I have experience at one to one tuition, small group tuition and whole class tuition. I can successfully support students with exam practice looking at how to answer questions with the correct details, interpretation of the exam command words and answering of extended questions such as 6 mark questions. Also explanation of subject content and knowledge building, dealing with misconception and revision skills.
