This is how 2 referees rated Ahmed:
I am an Actuarial Science (Statistical side of mathematics) student currently studying at Cass Business School (London). I did Maths and Further Maths for A2 (also economics but my knowledge isn't as strong which is why I chose not to teach that).
Notable achievements/qualifications (for maths and physics):
A* - A2 level Mathematics
A* - GCSE Mathematics (Did it in year 10, not 11)
B - AS level Physics (however i will only be teaching up to GCSE level physics, this is just to demonstrate that I have further knowledge in the subject and therefore will be able to teach everything for the GCSE syllabus's)
A* - GCSE level Physics
Gold Award - Junior Maths Challenge (qualified for olympiad)
Participation Award - Junior Maths Olympiad
Gold Award - Intermediate Maths Challenge
I was a Maths mentor during my school life for the last 2 years. This entailed me meeting younger people in my school during our lunch breaks and helping them with the problems they had with any area in maths up to A2 level maths (I was able to do this as I did further maths A2, meaning my mathematical knowledge was far more advanced than someone doing straight maths).
I like to always be just slightly ahead of class if possible as it means I am able to teach my pupil the content, have him/her practice a few questions and when he/she comes to it in class it's already just revision. I also ask the parents of the tutee whether they would like me to set him homework and how busy the tutee's schedule is so that I can set a realistic amount of work (without it ever being too much either).
