As a university lecturer in Engineering, I am passionate about Maths and encouraging learners to be inspired by the subject. In addition to my PhD in Engineering, I also have PG Cert in Higher Education which is one year course on learning and teaching methods. With over ten years’ experience lecturing in higher education and over three years’ experience of teaching GCSE and A-Level Maths, I have worked with students from various backgrounds and levels. I have 100% positive reviews from parents and students and in many cases achieved grades higher than the initial targets desired.
Throughout my years of teaching, I have also worked with university students on Maths and Engineering and with teachers wishing to progress from GCSE teaching to A-Level. Based on your needs, I offer small 4-5 class teaching (Chelmsford town centre), one-to-one tuition or distance online learning using smart advanced technologies. Each option is competitively priced; contact me to find out more.
I have over ten years’ experience lecturing in higher education and over three years working with GCSE, A-Level, and university students. In A-Level I have taught Core1-4, Statistics 1-2, Decision Maths 1-2, Mechanics 1-4, and Further Maths 1-3. For university students, I have covered Engineering topics, Economics, and Quantitative methods. I have PG Cert in Higher Education which is a year course on learning and teaching methods.
Inspiring confidence is the key to success in Maths. I start with an initial assessment of students and map the student capabilities in detail against learning outcomes expected for either GCSE or A-Level. This is followed by a personalised plan for the student’s tutoring depending on the desired grade and the time available before the exams. The progress of the student is monitored throughout with regular feedback given to the student and the parents. I consider different strategies depending on whether the objective is a desired grade over a short period of time or a long-term goal in progressing to advanced Maths.
Based on the individual needs and circumstances, I offer small 4-5 class teaching (Chelmsford town centre), one-to-one tuition or distance online learning using smart advanced technologies.
At the end of the day, for students that do not have a good foundation and have never been inspired about Maths, the topic can be painfully difficult. It is crucial that both the student and parents are committed to the planned tuition programme and the required study time. After all, Maths is about Practice, Practice, Practice!
