Information About Agrey - High Wycombe tutor
Media / Communication Studies
I've finished studying for Film Studies, as of last year June (Aylesbury college). I read a fair bit so wondered why not give tutoring a go. Not too sure on what else to say apart from that I'm eloquently spoken and quite likeable.
Although I've not undergone teacher's training; I have satisfactory experience in tutoring friends in instances when coursework must be completed or generally explaining the work to them, and with classmates I have unofficially filled the teacher's gap by helping them on a one to one basis.
Having studied Sociology, it's given me a more grounded understanding when educational needs are considered. My approach is usually establishing a rapport with the tutee- this can consist of asking what other subjects they're taking, what they're being taught in the questioned subject etc. Secondly I enquire into what particular area of study's a challenge, then explain the area of struggle and give them a written exercise to practice. Obviously if the aforementioned fails, I would work at a pace that's more suitably catered to what's been covered in their classtime. And if there are underlying problems, then presumably I'd ask how the pupil how they're being taught and adjust my tutoring to help them excel.
