Personal Description:

I first obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree certificate in civil engineering, and after initial working experiences in highway and construction industry, teaching and public relations sectors, completed a Masters programme in Civil Engineering at University of East London and graduated with distinction. Worked on different projects with the University, including lecturing contract **Removed By Admin**.
My recent teaching responsibilities at the University of East London and College of North West London include teaching and assessment in Construction and Civil Engineering at Levels 3, 4 and 5 where I worked with Foundation Degree students, apprentices and young learners. The tasks include meeting deadlines for verification, writing reports and constructive feedback, working with other teachers and administrators to adhere and accomplish the required highest standards of excellence in teaching and learning.
I have a full current CRB check (enhanced disclosure) for working with children and young adults.

Tutoring Experience:

Over four years teaching experience in secondary school, UK College and University.

Civil Engineering and Built Environment Lecturer, teaching BTech and FE learners in Building Technology, Construction and Building Maintenance, Mathematics in Construction and the Built Environment, Applied Maths in Construction and the Built Environment, Civil Engineering Technology, and Design Principles and Application in Construction and Built Environment modules.

Assistant lecturer at University of East London teaching Engineering Maths and Engineers in Society courses to Foundation engineering students.

Tutoring Approach:

Generally, my approach is to help and train students to understand how to think about problems rather than telling them what to think. Building from simple to complex problems, so as to gradually building confidence in the learner.

Each student has individual strengths and weaknesses and the goal is to tailor my approach to the individual needs of my students. Usually, I ask the student to identify challenging areas and I keep an eye on the outcome of school test/exam and homework to enable a proper monitoring and feedback system. I build in my tutoring the use of past papers and syllabus to check understanding, identify areas of weakness, resolve issues and build confidence.

The need to revise subject areas from earlier years where some basic principles have not been understood properly. I look out for these fundamental issues and resolve them in a way that schools just don’t have time to do.

Making students see the beauty in calculation based courses is my speciality.
