Hi, my name is Adam I am currently a Year 4 teacher at a two-form primary school in Greater Manchester. Prior to this I studied at The University of Chester, gaining my PGCE and therefore enabling me to take on the teaching position I am in now. I have also worked in a number of secondary school intuitions and have a degree in Journalism & Broadcasting. I take on tutoring clients because working in a school; I understand how children can struggle in certain subject areas, particularly with self-confidence. I am also aware of how stressful exams (particularly SATs and entrance exams) can be and how important a teacher is pivotal to the passing of such exams. I predominantly take on students between the ages of 3-11specialising in SAT's preparation, entrance exams, and maths in particular. As mentioned, through working with children day in day out, I have a sound skillset when it comes to understanding their needs and learning style. My qualifications are detailed below:
Primary PGCE with PE specialism - The University of Chester
Ba Hns Journalism & Broadcasting - The University of Salford
3 A/Levels - English Literature, Physical Education, Sociology
10 GCSE's - (All above Grade C level)
I am now in my fourth year as a qualified primary school teacher at a school in Greater Manchester. As part of this, I have my own class of 31 children, ensuring they make progress in line with national expectations. I have worked accross all Key Stage 2 year groups and currently reside in Year 4.
I am better equipped for tutoring primary school children who require some assistance with core subjects (English, maths, science). I like to analyse the students ability's before I start working with them, finding their strengths and weaknesses or any aspects they may be lacking in confidence in. I liked to create a relaxed environment for students whereby the making of mistakes is a natural process by which we learn. I prefer to make learning practical where possible and in keeping with this, I use lots of visuals with my students. I am very patient and understanding with my students. I work my students hard and make the lessons worthwhile but I always make sure that they enjoy the lesson. It is through this I find children's learning is cemented.
