've been drumming in many bands for a good number of years now (14 years or so) however the last few years have been a journey for me and I have developed a complete desire to inspire people with my passion for drumming, I believe that you need to persevere with any opportunity God gives you and that's what I've done with drumming ever since the age of 6 or 7 ive been hitting stuff even when there has been times when i've thought man I'm terrible, its the perseverence that improves your ability! I got my first kit at the age of 7 in March 2000 and ever since I've been on an adventure, but the world of drums is much more than just hitting some different sized cylindrical shapes its more than just a sound also… Over my career I hope to develop my pupils much more as musicians in all aspects and more importantly I hope I can inspire them…
I've been teaching for the past 3 years part time, as I've been studying Music at the same time, I've seen lots of development from pupils over a wide age range (aged 6 - 57 so far!) Last year I had students pass their grade 8 drum kit exams with flying colours, so although I don't have 20-30 years teaching experience, I understand what it takes to gain a set of skills in order for you to not only 'do the job' but to really embrace the talent you'll develop.
I tailor every lesson to the students needs or preferences, I communicate clearly & I am very practical in the way I teach. I'm very easy to talk to & communicate with & I maintain a driven nature within my lessons, I expect my students to be learning from me all of the time I spend with them. You will be challenged as a student & you will be pushed BUT you WILL see huge benefits as a drummer & a musician.
