Terms and Conditions Update

We've introduced some new features to First Tutors and reviewed our key customer concerns for the year and now we're updating our terms of use accordingly. We'd like to take the opportunity to highlight some of the key points and what they mean for you:

Easier Lesson Payments
We're trialling enabling families to pay for their private tuition lessons by credit/debit card to make your life and theirs a little easier. If you would like to opt-in to offer block bookings, we've added the necessary terms. As we are now listing online tutors separately we anticipate that for families based a long way from their tutor, the ability to pay online through our system will be very important.

Premium Tutors
For those of you who choose to benefit from our premium tutor subscription so you can boost your business, we're adding the ability to pay by recurring subscription.


99% of our tutors honour their commitments to clients when they make a tuition arrangement through First Tutors and we're immensely grateful to you all for that.

But to appease those few distressed families who find their selected tutor reneges on the arrangement, changes their diary agreement after purchase, refuses to travel having offered to do so, gives incorrect contact details, or who attempts to mislead both us and the client about their subject capability or fees, we will be refunding those parents and passing the cost of that refund to the tutor where appropriate.

We'll use the feedback process to invite clients to make a statement and we'll ask any tutor involved to respond to that feedback within 10 days. The final decision will then rest with us.

Some of you have been uploading copies of recent Enhanced DBS certificates alongside your qualifications and identity documents. We ask you to please bring any originals documents along to your first lesson with a new client as good practice.

How to cancel
These new updates will take effect immediately. If you continue to use our services, you agree to the updated terms, or if you don't agree you can cancel your service with us at any time by contacting us and requesting to be deleted from our system.

Your account is Inactive
You are not currently appearing in search results because you have marked your account as unavailable or your security is incomplete. You can change this at any time in your member's area. Alternatively, if you wish to delete your account or require assistance with your security procedures please reply to this email and we will be delighted to assist.

You are not opted-in for newsletters
You have chosen not to receive site updates on new features, tutor networking events, or new opportunities to promote your services. If you wish to change this at any time you can do so here.
