Meet some of our Andover Teachers
Bjorn's feedback about Sean (Beginner Guitar tuition near Andover)
Sean has a very pleasant style, in that he keeps the delivery of his lessons friendly and lighthearted but at the same time just sufficiently demanding to stretch your abilities and to make you feel you have made progress each lesson. His lesson content is quite clearly underpinned with a great deal of his own background knowledge of music theory, giving confidence that your learning is in safe hands. I can't recommend Sean more highly.
Thorsten's feedback about James (Intermediate Guitar tuition near Andover)
Very much enjoy working with you and I believe to have improved since ;-)
Chris's feedback about Darren (Beginner Violin tuition near Andover)
Darren was welcoming and supportive about beginning to play the volin as a retirement project. He is patient and persistant in appropriate proportions, and we progress at a rate which is relevant to my development. I would recomend him to other beginners.
Heulwen's feedback about Joanna (Beginner Piano tuition near Andover)
After approx 30 years I have returned to playing the piano. My memories of my music teacher that I had as a child are not that positive but Joanna has changed all that. She is an excellent teacher and my improvement so far (only 6 weeks) has been significant. She highlights problems with my technique - something I don't ever remember being shown - and whilst some of the changes are extremely challenging for me, when I persist the changes do pay dividends. I enjoy my lessons and i'm delighted with my choice of tutor.
Ashish's feedback about Natalia (Beginner Piano tuition near Andover)
yes i have thank you.
Bjorn's feedback about John (Beginner Guitar tuition near Andover)
John is a smashing guy and I really enjoyed the time I spent with him. I was hoping to have at least six months worth of lessons with John, but due to my own work commitments, I had to move away from the area sooner than expected. Otherwise I would have continued the lessons. I have scored John 4/5. I have no doubt that he could easily score 5/5 - he has the theory and the personality needed for that. However, personally I needed two things that I didn't really feel came through this time. Firstly, John can be a little whimsical (nothing unusual with a musician) but this meant I felt I wanted to be focused more tightly on tasks and exercises (in other words structure to my lessons) than I was able to get from each session. Secondly, I'm not sure that John fully ensured I had the last exercise properly under my belt before we moved on to the next one. Not a disaster - it means I still have "homework" to perfect even a few weeks after my last lesson with him! (And what he has given me is very worthwhile - so much so, that in a few weeks I might travel back to Coventry for a "how did I do?" lesson.) Summary Would I use John again? - Yes - definitely What should be done differently? - I would want to lead my teacher a bit better on what I want to get out of each lesson. Footnote: I'm a trained Scuba Diving Instructor (so I have been taught how to teach). I'm also 51 years old, so possibly more demanding than a younger person. I do recommend John thoroughly - I just wanted to provide an honest opinion. Good luck! :)
