Personal Description:

I am a passionate, experienced singer-songwriter and teacher. I work with students of all abilities and am happy to work with complete beginners. I offer a holistic approach to your learning that can either incorporate singing, song-writing and performing or focus on a specific area such as vocals.

I have over 15 years industry experience as a singer/songwriter, solo artist, band leader, published songwriter, piano and acoustic guitar player. Extensive experience in vocals, performance, songwriting, arrangement, recording & touring.

Beginners & improvers, adults and young people welcome.

Tutoring Experience:

I started teaching casually in 2019 and also have an interest in community music and group singing. I wanted to share my love, knowledge, skills and confidence I had gained over the many years spent playing, writing and performing in the industry. The opportunity to pass on, and help nurture, the unrivalled joy, excitement and meaning that music brings to my life has been an honour and a homecoming.

At the end of the year I completed my Level 3 Music Leader Training which gave me the confidence to push forward professionally. I was also invited by Community Music Sounds London to study on the advanced tutor development programme, where I now mentor and deliver workshops to students on the Music Business and Production Foundation Degree. I learn from every student that learns with me which is a truly rewarding part of the symbiotic process of teaching the arts.

Tutoring Approach:

I take the time to get to know your relationship with music and singing, find out what your passions, strengths and weaknesses are and individually tailor the sessions to set and work towards your own goals. My aim is to give you the tools and guidance to develop, grow, achieve and exceed your musical ambition.

I am patient, easy going and encouraging. I believe that everyone has lots to offer and to gain from musical expression. Whatever your aims and abilities, if you love singing and playing then we can work together.

We will work on the music you like to sing be it your own songs or covers. I can accompany students on piano and guitar if they would like and we can work on playing these instruments too.

I have recently moved to Gloucester and now have a studio in Stroud. I currently offer teaching online and from my teaching space. I provide guitar, piano and amplification where desired.
