Personal Description:
I'm a Jazz Master's graduate with a passion for helping people access music whoever and wherever they are. I believe everyone can access and benefit from creating and performing music - whether singing in a choir or learning the Ukulele, music is fun and everybody should have the chance to access it!
My specific area of training is in vocal technique and Jazz/improvisation, but I am also able to assist with aspiring performers of any kind through music theory and GCSE tutoring.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 10 years of experience working with young people at youth clubs, community centres and 1-1 tutoring, and am delighted to have recently appointed a full time role at a local secondary school from September 2019.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching focusses on just how enjoyable and fun learning music can be, by catering to each individual student's needs and natural direction. I make sure to cover the groundwork of music theory and vocal technique before moving on to performance and stage presence consideration. Building confidence and self-belief is a huge part of learning music and that is a lot of what our lesson would focus on.
