Personal Description:

Yura is a professional concert pianist and a teacher.

She studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BMus & MMus) with a full ABRSM scholarship and graduated first in her class and was awarded the Performance Prize for Keyboard. She also previously studied at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Department where she won the First prize in the Iris Dyer Piano Competition.

Her love for music and animals led to found 'the Cerasus' where she organises a series of charity concerts in the UK and Japan for animals in need. Her performing experience includes the BBC concert at Glasgow City Halls, Piano festival at FAZIOLI Hall, as well as being invited to perform for the Institut français d'Écosse and Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania and Japan.

She is a scholar of the Craxton Memorial Trust Award and a prizewinner in many international piano competitions, including the Evangelia Tjiarri International Competition (First Prize) and the Elena Richter International Competition (Second Prize) as well as having many masterclasses with great pianists including Professor Robert Levin, Steven Osborne, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Frank Wibaut and Richard Goode.

Tutoring Experience:

7 years of teaching experience both in the UK and Japan.
I am happy to prepare my students for ABRSM examinations (100% distinction rate), competitions and concerts.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim is to make lessons inspiring and motivative. Everyone is different and I adjust my approach to the need of my students. I also like to talk about body mapping/ human anatomy etc. to improve their techniques and postures.

I work on development of piano technique and musicianship as well as aural skills, harmony, sight-reading, theory and analysis. Always depending on needs and wish of the student.
