Information About Vincent - Okehampton teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Vincent:
I am a seasoned musician with experience in the music industry, touring, playing live, with different bands around the UK. My personal musical tastes are Progressive and Avant Garde Metal, but coming from a classical guitar and violin making tradition I also play and teach a variety of styles ranging from blues, rock, metal, classical and progressive guitar music. I am a friendly, forward thinking individual and teacher and believe a student should be taught how to play a variety of styles and not be simple tutored in a single range of techniques… so that they might become more versatile and dynamic musicians.
I have been teaching since I was 18 and now teach on a permanent basis.
I teach in an open, friendly manner, giving the student the opportunity to develop and discover their own individual abilities. I believe in teaching the student the range of techniques, cords, motifs and abilities that will allow them to become fully independant and versatile guitarists so that they will not be stuck in the realm of a single musical style but instead be able to play near enough every musical genre. I also teach my students that creativity is the foundaton of music and to become a better player one must also develop a creative approach to ones playing… composition being a fundamental side of this .
