I am a violinist performer and teacher based in London. I obtained a Masters Degree in violin performance at Trinity Laban in the class of Andrew Sherwood thanks to the support of the TLC Scholarship, and a first class Bachelor Degree in violin performance at Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona, Spain.
I have received violin and chamber music masterclasses with Thomas Brandis and Lothar Strauss, among others. I have played with orchestras such as Basque Country Youth Orchestra (EGO), Pablo Sarasate Youth Orchestra (JOPS), and Catalonia Symphonic Youth Orchestra (JONC) in Spain, and with orchestras such as Trinity Laban “String Ensemble”, Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, University of London Symphony Orchestra in the UK.
Among my recitals in Spain, England and Scotland there are remarkable a violin recital in the first Music Festival PAM’12 and PAM’14 in the ‘Palacio del Condestable’ in Pamplona and my performance at CaixaForum in Barcelona.
Among my achievements in Chamber Music, I obtained a 1st prize at the Stratford & East London Competition with the Austen Piano Trio and a second prize in the Concurso de Música de Cámara “Remacha” (2004). As part of the Duo Stellae, I have performed in a Chamber Music Bonanza Concert during the Royal Greenwich String Quartet Festival and in some places such a Wigmore Hall or St.Dunstan in the West and also received masterclasses with Quatuor Mosaïques, Wihan Quartet, Krysia Osostowicz and Carducci Quartet.
As a violin teacher, I am currently working at a Music Academy in Portobelo and at some Primary Schools in Newham, London. I teach one to one and groupal lessons from beginning until advanced level and I also prepare my pupils for ABRSM exams. Since 2006 I have taught violin privately and at different music schools in Barcelona (Spain) both group and one to one lessons without any age limit.
When I teach violin, I try my students to improve and realise their improvement. Thus, they want to arrive home and practise to become better violinists. I like to teach them not only about technical issues but also about how they should practise each piece on their own. For that I use to start the lesson with some shoulders, neck, back and arms exercises for getting the habit of playing without tension and also with a good position. After that I like to work on one study or piece and work with it by searching better sound, teaching how to listen carefully the intervals to improve the tuning, play difficult passages by changing rhythms but always trying to feel the music of the piece and understand it.
Since I was studying my violin degree in Barcelona, I became really interested in violin teaching. In my first year I took a pedagogy module, which I ended with high distinction. Therefore, I started to teach young children and to research about how I could improve my teaching in order to make them learn well the instrument whilst they are enjoying playing it. After the lessons it happened often to me that not only the student but even the parents requested me to keep giving them lessons during the rest of the year. Since then, also my college partners started to ask me for musical advice, so I used to listen and teach them before their exams or auditions. I am also used to learn about teaching by watching my teachers’ lessons to other students and by attending different masterclasses.

I look forward to each lesson and recommend her teaching style to anyone who wants to learn the violin. She is very patient which for me is a vital attribute to any teacher.
