This is how 3 referees rated Vicki:
A fully qualified and experienced teacher and performer, I have been giving clarinet, saxophone and theory lessons to adults and children of all abilities for almost 25 years and thoroughly enjoy seeing my students grow as musicians and develop a lifelong love of music.
Since picking up a clarinet over 30 years ago, I have played everything from classical and contemporary music to blues, jazz and rock. As well as teaching clarinet and saxophone, I run my own vintage boutique band, The Stable Yard Jazz Band, playing jazz and swing from the Roaring '20s to the Fabulous '50s. Playing the music of Pink Floyd with tribute band Bootleg Floyd means that I also get the opportunity to embrace my inner rock chick, noodling about on not just one, but four saxes – soprano, alto, tenor and baritone – and have plenty of fun with special effects and techniques from growls and shakes to super-high altissimo shrieks.
I also play for a variety of big bands and orchestras, as well as performing solo clarinet and saxophone with backing tracks or small combo for weddings, parties and corporate events.
I'm a member of the Musicians' Union and have public liability insurance.
A fully qualified primary school teacher and ex-deputy headteacher, I spent almost a decade teaching in schools and am CRB/DBS-checked. Over the past 25 years I have taught the clarinet and saxophone to well over 100 private students. As well as teaching individuals and chamber groups, I have conducted and led various choirs, orchestras and instrumental ensembles.
Teaching both from my home studio (face-to-face or via Skype/Zoom) and providing mobile lessons in schools and in pupils' homes in Wiltshire and surrounding counties, my students have a 100% ABRSM and Trinity exam pass rate and have been successful in festivals, competitions, workshops and recitals across the south of England.
My lessons aim to provide:
- a safe, welcoming environment
- inspiration and motivation
- practical guidance
- theoretical knowledge
- opportunities for listening, discussion, composing and improvising
- an environment of high expectation and teacher support
- opportunities for creative risk-taking and independence
- performance opportunities
- exam and festival entry
- varied, high-quality repertoire (classical, jazz, rock and pop)
- tips and tricks
I believe that music is magical, and as a music teacher it is my aim to motivate, inspire and foster a lifelong love of music in all students, from the beginner to the most advanced.

I haven’t received any voicemails or emails, I’m afraid (have checked in spam and junk messages too but can’t find any from you or from your partner). I've just sent an email to you instead, now that I know you’ve been trying tried to get in touch to book the lessons. Hopefully you've received it… ?
