Personal Description:

Vaughan studied the violin, viola and piano at Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal College of Music, as well as privately with Kato Havas O.B.E. He has worked as a professional orchestral musician with the London Philharmonic and Philharmonia Orchestras, as well as playing on the film soundtracks to 'Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring' and 'The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey'. Vaughan founded his own group, the Manor House String Quartet (on **Web Address Removed**) and has since played at over 800 weddings, 100 concerts and on 150 sound recordings! His recording 'I Saw Three Ships and other carols' has been played on radio stations in North America, Canada, Australia, as well as in the U.K. on Classic FM.

Tutoring Experience:

Vaughan has over 20 years teaching experience for both children and adults, including working with the Berkshire Young Musicians' Trust, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire Music Services. and teaches with an enthusiastic and welcoming approach. Vaughan received a distinction when awarded his teaching diploma from the Birmingham Conservatoire and is also an Associate of the Royal College of Music. He has taught all age ranges, from children aged 6 to 70-year old adults and has guided students through Grades 1 to 8 and diploma level.

Tutoring Approach:

Vaughan is happy to teach online via Skype. He has an engaging and enthusiastic approach to teaching, helping students to fulfill their potential through humour and a love of music. Enjoying the journey is as important as reaching the final destination and his tension-free approach to playing will liberate rather than pressurise the learner. He possesses a deep insight into all aspects of playing and musicianship, ensuring that all self-doubts disappear, to be replaced with a deep satisfaction at the learning process. He is CRB checked and up-to-date with relevant child protection training, as well as being a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (I.S.M.). He teaches from his studio on the borders of Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
