Information About Tom - Newham teacher

Personal Description:

I'm a musical theatre performer currently studying at the London School of Musical Theatre. I have been having singing lessons for 7 years now, learning different kinds of techniques throughout that time. I have a huge passion for singing and I'm extremely excited to be able to share that passion with others and hopefully help people to become filled with love and passion for singing themselves.

Tutoring Experience:

I have very little teaching experience, having taught a friend and helped with my sister's students at her school. Due to my lack of experience I am opening up my services to new singers who can benefit greatly from the advice I can offer. I am likely not ideal for an experienced singer, but perfect for newcomers as I will not be over complicating things, and we'll work at a steady pace. It's a learning experience for all of us.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is to combine all the techniques I have been taught in the past and allow the student to decide which one works best for them. I believe there is no one right way to sing, and it is entirely down to the individual and what works best for them. The three techniques I will be looking at are Old Italian, Estille and Bel Canto. I will also be including an acting through song element for those who want it, acting well can really aid your singing and your performance. I will be taking a slow and steady approach, building on the basics for any singer, and taking a heavy focus on vocal stamina.
