Personal Description:

Since receiving his Music degree from the University of Chichester, Tom has fulfilled a variety of roles full-time, including: studio recording, events management & promotion. Tom also founded the Rocky Lane Project, a community interest music project, recently funded twice by O2 under the "Think Big" scheme.

As a Record Producer Tom’s worked with over 50 artists & various notable producers, and in his years at Sound Central Studios, encountered highly influential figures including guitarist Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones) & producer Richard Rogers (Radiohead, U2, Muse).

Tutoring Experience:

Tom has been playing guitar for over twelve years and teaching for over five. Tom previously tutored for non-profit Starfish Youth Music and has extensive studio, live & industry experience.

Tutoring Approach:

Tom is able to teach the Rock School Syllabus alongside his own teaching materials and popular songs. Typically, most lessons are based around learning to perform songs that have been chosen by the individual. The personal approach, as opposed to a predefined syllabus, helps the student to enjoy the lesson whilst supporting their performance with relevant theory & exercises tailored by Tom to fit the players' technique. Tom also teaches many techniques that can be carried through to songwriting, band playing and live performances.
