Information About Toby - Buckhurst Hill teacher

Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Toby, a music teacher in the Buckhurst Hill area. I am a multi-instrumentalist, playing drums, piano and guitar, and I'm currently learning the bass! I have over 19 years of music ensemble experience, playing in different musical settings and playing different genres (including Orchestral, Big Band, Rock and Contemporary Christian Worship).

Alongside doing music lessons, I work part-time in a local church. My role includes playing each of my instruments, singing, leading worship and working with kids, youth and young adults. I enjoy sports and eating good food.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching since September 2019. This has included teaching both Grades and Christian worship musicianship (including playing in a band setting). I have been greatly encouraged by the feedback I have received from my lessons, as well as the progress and fruit witnessed from those lessons.

In addition to music teaching, I have over 15 years experience in running activities and teaching children and youth in settings such as holiday clubs, Sunday school and youth clubs, through my different churches.

You can be confident in my technical musicality as I have Grade 8 Drum Kit with Distinction from the London College of Music. I have also taught myself multiple instruments which I now play as a significant part of my job.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer lessons for drums and piano, including for beginners, those doing Grades and those looking to grow in Christian Worship. Lessons are available online/in person. Currently all lessons are online due to COVID-19 government regulations.

Prices vary due to location/duration. Standard 1 hour lesson (no travel) £30
