Personal Description:

My name is Tim , and I am a dynamic young pianist and musician. I am an experienced performer and composer who works around the UK, and very much enjoy passing on my skills to others as well as having a great deal of fun with my students in the process. I have a passion for a wide variety of music ranging from classical to jazz and enjoy teaching students young and old of all abilites.

I have studied music from the age of 4 and am currently in my final year of my Masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music, having also completed my BMus at the same institution with First Class Honours in July 2021. I have also gained the LRAM (Licenciate of the Royal Academy of Music) in teaching, completed in July 2021 also.

Tutoring Experience:

I have given piano and music theory lessons to a variety of ages and abilities since being a young teenager, and try to make my lessons as fun and enjoyable as possible. I prefer to teach at the student's home face-to-face, but can also teach online if desired, and have lots of experience giving virtual lessons (owing to the pandemic). My advanced pianistic and musical ability I find is invaluable to my students, and being a young musician on the performing scene makes my approach current and up to date.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning any instrument should be an enjoyable and rewarding process. Regardless of the students age and previous experience, both long and short term goals should be set, be it in the form of music exams, performances at school/in public, or just the satisfaction from being able to play a piece of music from start to finish. Specifically for the piano, my focus is on a having a relaxed and comfortable technique whilst playing music that the student chooses and enjoys, alongside working on things such as aural skills and sight reading.

I am willing to travel a reasonable distance to the student's house (which is preferred over online teaching), and cover St John's Wood, Marylebone and the surrounding areas. Any queries at all, please just drop me a message.
