Information About Thomas - Clapham teacher
At 16 I enrolled with the Academy of Contemporary Music Guildford to study Drums and Music Production. Since then I have moved to London and have been performing regularily on the London circuit playing with many artists and bands over the last 4 years. I also play in Function and Wedding bands across the UK. The music genre's I play personally are Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Reggae, RnB, Pop and Blues. I am generally an easy going person but I have a passion to be successful in the music industury.
I have been tutoring weekly on a one to one basis for the last 2 years, teaching students from 7 to 35 years. While teaching young students the parents have the option of sitting in and getting involved too. I have the facilities to teach in the daytime but I'm also happy to drive to you (based on distance) on a day that suits you best.
My lesson's will be tailored towards your goals and aspirations of learning the drums.
Specific genre preferences will be explored further, however getting a good understanding of various styles will ulitmately make you a better all round player.
Timing, Different Techniques, Hand/Foot Co-ordination, Reading Theory, Feel and Ear training are examples that are taught in all of my lesson's.
I try to teach in a relaxed and fun environment, ensuring that students aren't tense or afraid to make a mistake. I like my students to see the progression from lesson to lesson and always leave them with material to practice in their own time. Most of all learning should always be a fun experience!
