Information About Susannah - Manchester teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Susannah:
I am a 19 year old cellist who has been playing the cello for 11 years. I am starting my second year at the RNCM. I attended the Centre for Young Musicians in London for 7 years and was a member of the LSSO for 4 years. I really enjoy teaching and find it extremely rewarding and inspiring. I find it is also extremely beneficial to my own playing and practise. I am happy to teach cellists of all standards and ages, and hope to provide fun, engaging lessons.
I have been teaching since I was 14 years old, teaching children between the ages of 5-13. After a year of music college I feel a lot more experienced and prepared to help students progress on their instrument. I am also a qualified tutor for The Tutor Trust for which I have done training regarding working with young people and teaching specifically, and have got a DBS certificate.
I try and take a fun but firm approach to music tuition. When starting with students I prioritise forming a relationship because I feel giving feedback is much easier this way. I encourage students to practise, but don’t put pressure because I often find this can discourage students. I try and teach students important practise techniques during lessons so they can take this away without always realising. Overall I try to create a fun learning environment for my students in order to encourage them to come back and feel enthusiastic about music.
