Information About Stuart - Sheffield teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Stuart:
I started playing piano at the age of 6, and since then have picked up several other instruments: violin, bass and acoustic guitar, and trombone. I have played in many different ensembles, such as full and string orchestras, folk groups, wind and jazz bands, and different choirs. My experience with each of these instruments and groups has introduced me to new elements of music, giving me a more intuitive understanding of it. I am keen to share my knowledge with others, so that music may become as important to you as for me.
I have experience teaching children, adults, and individuals with additional needs.
It is essential to only teach what each individual pupil wants to learn. I regularly seek feedback from my pupils, checking we are working towards their goals, and to see whether thier targets have changed. I take either a specific approach to my teaching, for pupils who are working towards high technical proficiency, or a holistic approach, if a pupil is trying to achieve a greater appreciation and enjoyment of music as a whole. This boils down to a varied combination of scales, intense practice, spontaneous singing, and insights into musical history!
