Information About Stuart - Huddersfield teacher - (2 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Stuart:
Hi! I have a wide range of musical experience – I simply love the piano and have a performance diploma (with distinction); I enjoy singing in Huddersfield Choral Society where I’ve been a member for over ten years; and I have also played in brass bands at championship level.
I have recently taken early retirement from work and want to give something back by helping you find your own enjoyment for playing the piano and in making music, whatever that might mean for you as an individual.
I have taught piano privately on a part-time basis at various levels during the past ten years and have a 100% pass rate with those pupils who chose to take either Associated Board or Trinity College exams.
I have extensive experience in developing individuals and teams within major organisations and hold a professional qualification in personnel development.
I was almost put off music for life as a child by an “old-school” piano teacher for whom the mechanics of playing were more important than the music.
So, my approach aims to be the opposite! First and foremost I aim to help you find a sense of accomplishment and joy in the music you are learning at a level and pace appropriate for you. Secondly, I aim to support you in developing your piano technique, alongside the varied skills that make a rounded musician, through the medium of the music itself.
