Personal Description:

I have played Guitar for over 25 years. I have also played Piano, Drums and Bass in that time as well as singing, both lead vocals and backing vocals.

I have a BMus (Hons) Degree in Jazz, Popular and Commercial Music from The Sage Gateshead (via Sunderland Uni) where I Majored in Production and Composition as well as taking a Performance Module throughout the 3 Years. I am a full member of both the RGT (Registry of Guitar Tutors) and MU (Musicians Union)

In terms of gigging, I have over 10 years experience playing in a wide variety of bands and venues.

I have also recorded with many projects, assisting with the production and/or writing, as well a composing and recording my own material.

Tutoring Experience:

Private Guitar, Bass and Music Theory tuition 2006 - present
I began teaching privately, firstly at my own home then began visiting students’ homes teaching mostly children aged 10-15. The main instrument I teach is Guitar but I have also given Bass and Music Theory Lessons.

Clives Easy Learn Rock & Pop School 2007-2008
This was a franchise of a weekend/evening music school, which was based in Lemington (Newcastle West End) and Gosforth. I taught Guitar at both schools and was promoted to the position of head tutor. I was also called upon to cover Bass and Drum lessons due to other tutors absence. This franchise was disbanded in 2008 and so I took over the running of the Gosforth school.

Gosforth Weekend Music School 2008-2009
This was the result of my taking over the Gosforth branch of the old ‘Easy Learn’ Franchise. I personally took over all managerial responsibilities such as taking payments for sessions, paying staff and overheads, as well as teaching my guitar sessions.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim is to allow the students to develop at their own pace and focus on the areas that they are most interested in. I also provide guidance and advice on beneficial techniques for practice. Lessons are catered to all styles and skill levels. I teach RG**Contact Detail Removed**ctric and Acoustic Guitar grades to all levels and recommend taking the most appropriate of these courses once the basics of playing have been established.
