Personal Description:

Have you always wanted to play piano but never had the chance?
Do you want to play your favourite songs on the piano without the stress of exams and classroom settings?
Would you like to be able to sit down at a piano and read music?

Then why not get in touch about lessons!

My teaching is geared specifically towards adults with the aim of helping you enjoy music. The benefits of playing an instrument are well known these days and despite what some people say - it's never too late to start!

Playing the piano has always been my favourite thing to do and I've been lucky enough to make a living from it. In addition to my regular teaching, I also work as an accompanist as well as performing as a soloist and part of ensembles.

My current availability: Mondays, Fridays(get in contact for further details)

Tutoring Experience:

I've taught in music schools and privately in my native Ireland and in Germany and teaching has been my main occupation for the last 5 years.

I have taught all abilities from beginners up to diploma-level students and preparing students for performances in musical festivals.

I also work as an accompanist for performers in festivals and for examinations.

Tutoring Approach:

Piano learning is not the same as examinations. There is a time and place for exams for those who wish to have them but I don't force them on anyone.

My lessons focus first and foremost on musicianship and building skills that allow you to enjoy playing music. We will learn the basic such as note names, rhythm, correct fingering, and how to read sheet music all the while playing music.

30 mins lessons (most popular): £20
45 mins lesson £30
60 mins lesson: £35

I do not impose long contracts so you are never committed to a long span of lessons. I only ask for the month paid in advance (after the trial lesson).

For players at a more advanced level, we'll go through more music and focus on sight-reading, transposition, improvisation, theory, and more advanced piano literature.
