Information About Steven - Kingston upon Thames teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Steven:
I have a passion for teaching and playing the piano and have recently moved back to London after studying piano at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC) with Philip Martin and Mikhail Kazakevich. I have also just returned from playing for The 12 Tenors International Tour in Europe.
During my time at RBC I played in various ensembles and orchestras within and outside the Conservatoire, including the Thallein Ensemble, Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra, and, most frequently, with the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra and continue to this day.
During my time at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, I taught piano at Kimichi School, a specialist music secondary school.
Upon graduating I became Musician in Residence and boarding tutor at the boarding school, Old Swinford Hospital, where I worked with all abilities of students from year 7 to sixth form. Through differentiation I allowed all of my students to achieve or exceed their expected target grades in both the practical and composition modules. I also worked in the boarding house with year 8 to sixth form in their after-school hours and weekends.
I currently teach one-to-one piano within schools in the Kingston Borough and also teach group lessons.
I have always taught privately from beginner up to diploma level. I have experience with all ages from primary school to adults.
I firmly believe that my students should become musicians as well as pianists.
Within lessons we will learn how to play the piano and also incorporate theoretical and aural knowledge to obtain a strong and confident technique and musicianship. Each lesson will be tailored to your particular needs.
Whether taking grades or just want to have a go, I strive to make each lessons fresh, fun, and let you take away something new.
