Personal Description:

I have been interested in music from a young age, taking piano lessons then moving onto guitar before saxophone in secondary school. I studied classical music as an undergraduate at Edinburgh Napier University, with saxophone performance and composition as my first studies. I have since continued to learn as a musician myself, taking courses in jazz at St Andrews University and songwriting at Goldsmiths University.

I currently provide music for events, weddings and any other opportunities that come my way! I also write and perform my own music as a singer-songwriter.

Other than music, I have a background in youth and charity work with a passion for empowering young people and using the creative arts in positive ways. I work as a Performance Specialist with Artis, providing interactive and fun creative arts workshops for primary school children which enhance their learning of the curriculum. I also work with babies and toddlers, and at the other end of the spectrum, provide music sessions for care homes.

I also love to check out art, theatre and exciting cultural things on offer. I enjoy travelling when I get the opportunity, and of course good food and good company always help!

Tutoring Experience:

I am an experienced music tutor who has been providing private tuition since 2010, working with students of all ages and abilities. I co-founded a music tuition service in Edinburgh, and now perform and teach in London.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning to play an instrument and studying music should be a fun experience, and I will take the time to find out what you are hoping to get from lessons. It will also require a bit of work, but I will guide you through this and I always aim to get a good balance in lessons to make sure you feel comfortable in what you are learning but that you are also challenged enough to make good progression.
