Personal Description:
Hi I’m Steve. Friendly. Reliable. Very experienced in teaching and performance. I spent 22 years as a professional musician in the British Army, performing all round the world at ceremonial occasions. I’ve conducted orchestras, choirs and bands too. More importantly to you, I’ve taught piano for many years and built up a good reputation in Wiltshire before recently relocating to Poole.
Tutoring Experience:
During my 22 years military service I mentored and taught many musicians to professional standards. I coached musicians who were due to perform highly technical solos in front of large audiences. I trained musicians to hone their nerves in preparation for performing in front of Royalty or at highly formal occasions. Since retiring from the Army in 2008 aged 40, I’ve taught piano to senior citizens/mature adults and helped them to enjoy what they are doing.
Tutoring Approach:
It’s gotta be fun! My approach is to teach you the things you want to learn. Maybe you want to play Christmas carols on Christmas Day for your family. Maybe you want to learn to read music better. Maybe you want to get to grips with the reasons why the fundamentals are so important. Maybe you want to just enjoy the tranquility and release of playing to yourself and finding happiness in your growth. Who knows? It’s up to you what you want to learn and my job is to help you wi th that.
I can travel to you so that you learn on your own instrument.
