Personal Description:
I studied music at Middlesex University and I am still a performing musician and composer.
I have performed live in various ensembles and bands.
Tutoring Experience:
With over 20 years experience I teach beginner to advanced level piano up to Grade 8. Classical and Jazz syllabi.
I have taught privately and also for Haringey Music Service, where I worked as a peripatetic music teacher in both primary and secondary schools.
I also can teach jazz, blues and pop styles by ear, using chords, scales, modes, and harmonic progressions
Tutoring Approach:
If I am teaching classical piano, I aim to get my pupils reading music fluently and playing with good technique and musicality.
If I am teaching jazz, blues and pop styles and I can branch out into reading chords and basic improvisational skills, which doesn't necessarily need the ability to read music.
I am experienced and extremely patient. I try and keep my lessons focussed but I have an informal and friendly manner.
I enjoy my work and aim to make my pupils enjoy their lessons too.
